Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
More background information about Me
I am a Member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. I began training as an Acupuncturist following major surgery in Melbourne. As a result of problems with my recovery, I sought acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine while living in Hong Kong which showed excellent results.
After her personal experiences I went on to study Chinese medicine and realised that whilst my previous symptoms didn’t fit into the Western medicine model, they seemed to fit and be treatable alongside the Eastern medicine model. I became an apprentice to a Chinese doctor for 2 years in Hong Kong. Throughout my studies I developed a real passion for this area of therapy and believes that it has been very useful when it comes to maintaining general health and well-being.
Over the years, through my work I have been able to help women to stay well and this covers all ages from puberty, fertility, menopause and beyond. There have been over 100 babies birthed as a result of my treatments, whether it’s being alone or alongside IVF. This has been a huge privilege for me, to have supported many women.
Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicines
I started as an Apprenticeship in Hong Kong, which lasted for two years, I then moved to London and continued training for 3 more years where I joined the Register of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since then I have now completed further training and studies in Japanese Kampo Herbal Medicine, which is practised in Japanese hospitals and taught by Gretchen De Soriano, as well as Japanese Acupuncture taught by from Kiiko Matsumoto. I have also attended further intensive acupuncture training in the ancient tradition of acupuncture of the Tung family, taught by Susan Johnson.
In addition to the above, I have also studied in Gynaecology and Obstetrics with Professor Shulan Tang and Professor Zhang Yifang in their gynaecology herbal practice methods as well as training with Giovanni Macioca. I also studied obstetrics for acupuncturists at the Royal College of Physicians in 2006 and 2007.
I continue with undertaking training to help with my professional development and incorporate this into my work, ensuring I keeps up to date with the latest developments in Eastern medicine and Russian medicine with Professor Revenko and Galina Subbotina.
I began my Flower Essence Training in 2002 and have studied alongside some of the main creators of essences, including Clare Harvey, Steve Johnson, Sabina Pettitt, Judith Griffin, Don Dennis and Ian White. Flower Essences have since become an integral part of my work with patients and clients. This service is provided through Peridot Essences and I aim to ensure all my clients enjoy an enhanced sense of well-being.
